Pennsylvania Man Fatally Stabbed Girlfriend Because He Hated Her Haircut

In Pennsylvania, 49-year-old Benjamin Garcia Gual is accused of murdering his girlfriend, 50-year-old Carmen Martinez-Silva, by stabbing her multiple times with a kitchen knife following a dispute over her recent haircut, which he allegedly hated.

Martinez-Silva was frightened of Gual after he became angry about her haircut and reportedly told her that he would “stab her” over it. Due to her fear, Martinez-Silva initially stayed with her daughter, Yamaris Knight, after the argument.

On the morning of November 3, Martinez-Silva left her daughter’s home and went to her brother, Luis Martinez-Silva, asking him to tell Gual that their relationship was over and to retrieve his belongings from their shared mobile home.

However, Gual arrived at Luis’s mobile home looking for her. Although Luis tried to protect his sister by telling Gual she wasn’t there, Gual returned shortly after and allegedly attacked both siblings with a kitchen knife.

Police say Gual first stabbed Luis in the head, chest, abdomen, and arm. When Carmen tried to pull him away, he turned on her, stabbing her “multiple times throughout her body.”

Witnesses reported that Gual swung the knife in an attempt to stab another individual who tried to intervene but missed. One witness even attempted to retrieve a gun to stop the attack, but Gual reportedly turned the knife toward him as well, narrowly missing.

After the attack, Gual reportedly remained at the scene, standing outside with the knife in hand, before retreating to a Toyota Corolla where police later found him with a blood-stained kitchen knife on the passenger seat.

Gual was arrested on charges including murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment. He is currently being held without bail at Lancaster County Prison.
